TO: X-Factor Agents
FROM: Carpenter
SUBJECT: Ducks in a Row

07/15/09

Since the team returned from Colorado, we've had a number of new agents joining us. I'm sure that most of you have met them by now and have hopefully had time to read their dossiers, but in the light of the general confusion of the last mission and the sheer number of new faces, I wanted to take time to both introduce and welcome all those who have joined us recently. If you haven't read their dossiers yet, please do.
  • Wade - Twenty-eight year old Wade Wilson is a veteran of the Afghan war, where he served with Special Forces. In addition to his Special Forces training, he speaks Persian and German. His mutation gives him an advanced healing factor, and his skills generally make him worth keeping around. Generally.

  • Maverick - Christoph Nord was born in Germany prior to World War II and has lived a full life. Most recently, he's worked with the CIA, and then as a free-lance operative world-wide. His experience is vast, although much of his past is lost to amnesia. He speaks German, Russian, French, and Arabic, and his mutation gives him enhanced physical abilities and healing.

  • Parker – Twenty-three year old Peter Parker joins us from New York City, where he was gaining some notoriety as a vigilante using the name ‘Spiderman’. His mutation provides him with enhanced reflexes and web-slinging.

  • Elsa - Twenty-eight year old Elsa White was formerly employed by an industrial company, where she did security work for their Hong Kong office. She's fluent in both Catonese and Mandarin and has solid basic security skills. Her mutation allow her to control water and focus it into high-powered jets.

  • Harrison - Thirty-six year old Harrison Brady served as a Marine for five years, where he picked up skill as a helicopter mechanic in addition to his other mechanical skills. His training reflects his time in the military, while his mutation allows him to control electricity.

  • Julian - Thirty-one year old Julian Beckett is a former Navy Seal and Special Ops and comes to us highly trained in the areas of combat and covert ops, as well as being a gifted tactician. His mutation allows him to see through the eyes of another, and to use that sight for limited teleportation. Julian also speaks Arabic.

  • Dean - Twenty-seven year old Dean Thomas worked briefly for the CIA before being recruited into our ranks, and has been trained accordingly. He speaks Russian and Spanish, and his mutation allows him to shapeshift and take the form of others.

  • Hex - Twenty-eight year old Alice Winters claims dual citizenship and was trained in the British military and worked for some time with the Special Reconnaissance Regiment before working for a defense contractor here in the US. She's a skilled sniper, among other things, and speaks Arabic. Her mutation allows her to teleport through shadowed areas.

  • Mischa - Twenty-four year old Mischa Nagori lost her sight in a car accident when she was young. Her omni-directional "sight", however, allowed her to work for several years as a knife thrower and juggler, and this gift, coupled with the ability to split her focus, makes her a valuable asset.

  • Michelle - Twenty-three year old Michelle Laraday is a former Xavier's graduate who has recently graduated with a Masters degree in cryptography and has a solid computing background. Her mutation allows her to control the wind.

  • Vault - Thirty-seven year old Nikolae Vasilenko worked as a bouncer in Seattle, Washington before being recruited to X-Factor. As a result of years also working in a gun shop, he's handy with firearms. His mutation gives him enhanced reflexes and also gives him teleportation.

  • Jeanne-Marie - Twenty-six year old Jeanne-Marie Beaubier comes to us with her twin brother, Jean-Paul. Raised in Quebec before immigrating to California, Jeanne-Marie is fluent in French and formerly worked as a teacher. She has a number of useful combat skills, and her mutation allows her to move at very fast speeds.

  • Jean-Paul - Twenty-six year old Jean-Paul Beaubier comes to us with his twin sister, Jeanne-Marie. Raised in Quebec before immigrating to California, Jean-Paul is fluent in French and a former competitive skiier. He is highly athletic with a background in gymnastics and martial arts. His mutation allows him to move at very fast speeds.

  • Dante - Twenty-eight year old Durante Eads is a former beat cop from Atlanta who's worked most recently as a fitness trainer. His mutation allows him to view locations from a distance after 'charging' a focus item placed in the location.

Most of these new agents have been assigned duties, although some have yet to complete testing. Some older agents have had their duties reduced in order to give them time to focus now that new faces mean their jobs are more time-consuming. Duties have been posted. Update yourselves, and work accordingly.

- Cover with Agent Simon was successful, to a degree.

- Possible issues with distraction of Simon and myself. Agent requests information regarding the other operatives. What went wrong?

- Encountered one Doom Security guard at head of stairs. Lured him into a private room and performed standard telekinetic attack. Security guard was knocked out cold. Acquired his firearm, partially wiped prints.

- While in the lower quarters, encountered a type of AI interface shaped/designed like Doom. Operated as a mechanical system made of plastic and reinforced metal. Did not sense any organic material in it. Its attacks were limited to a basic swipe/reaching with its mechanical arm.

- The interface required two hits to destroy: first was roughly a several hundred pound force lift-and-drop telekinetic effect, targeting its core-region. This limited most of its movements, but did not destroy it. Second was slightly more force, but targeted its head. The interface was destroyed on impact after the second.

- Objective was reached, removed, and identified as legitimate. Extracted objective through alternative exit and met at extraction point.

- We've been given Homeland Security covers. Develop your own ASAP so that we can bypass Oscorp Security.

- Bring any equipment you think will be necessary, but nothing too cumbersome.

- Agent Beckett is tasked with acquiring security footage of Oscorp during the theft and evaluating that footage. Beckett is also tasked with acquiring identification of the thieves, or any other information leading to their whereabouts.

- Agent Brady is tasked with acquiring final Oscorp glider and suit plans, or as close to the final drafts as he can acquire, and evaluating them as mechanical constructs. Where are there weakpoints? Can software be used against them? Can they be tracked? Etc. (To aid this process, Parker gives a copy of his mathematical investigations into the suit and glider).

- Agent Parker assigns himself to the disposal of any of the other agents, since he has investigative knowledge, some mechanical knowledge as it pertains to physics, and is a frequent, though unwelcome, visitor of the criminal underground. He will also try to make contact with his Oscorp contacts, Doctor Norman and Harry Osborn.

- Agent Valentine is tasked with searching the criminal underground of NYC for leads to any interested buyers of the Oscorp suit and buyer, or any other information which would lead to its recovery.

- Report any findings ASAP. Good luck! Agents can accompany other agents in their respective personal assignments.

Just in case, you think I'd be able to punch through it? )

Got to my new home late Sunday. Well, not that late here but considering my body is still 4 hours ahead of these people, IT WAS LATE.

Damn Jet lag. The room was nice, got to unpack before I got taken to the debrefing. Had a nice talk. Confidential crap blah blah blah. You know the story.

Did pretty ok on the obstacle course but the jet lag and time away from the force did show a little. Don't have cargo nets at the gym. Hell, haven't seen cargo nets before this since...

Hmm. When was the last 'training in the military' themed movie I saw?

Anyways. Obstacle course went ok, Firearms was a bit better, After that it got boring. Probably should have chosen my words and actions a tad better when they got around to asking about other skills.

Still He asked and it's his fault for making me feel like I was back in high school.

By the time I got back to my room, I just flopped onto the bed and went to sleep.

Now that I'm awake and have a little more time to look around I have to say.

What a view. Beats staring at pavement.

But today should be busy as well. Time to learn the cover story.

Did I mention the view is great?
